How to make bread in home

 Ingredients:



  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast:

    • In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
    • Sprinkle the yeast over the water and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy.
  2. Mix the Dough:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
    • Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture.
    • If using, add the olive oil.
    • Mix until the dough comes together.
  3. Knead the Dough:

    • Flour a clean surface and knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. First Rise:

    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Shape the Dough:

    • Punch down the risen dough and knead it for a few minutes.
    • Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Second Rise:

    • Cover the loaf with a damp cloth and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat and Bake:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  8. Cool and Enjoy:

    • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
